Since 2008, Triumph has thrown down an annual challenge to fashion students worldwide to design a “unique lingerie showpiece” using the specified theme of the year. For car lover’s, it’s equivalent to a concept car; in this case, it’s over-the-top lingerie for the future. The reward is winning Triumph’s Inspiration Award (TIA), publicity, prize money and the opportunity to turn the design into a more commercial look. The theme for the 2011 competition has special significance, as it’s tied to Triumph’s 125th anniversary, boasting a theme entitled “125 Years of Celebrating Women”.
According to Triumph, each creation at the International Grand Finale will be presented to the global press in a spectacular runway show and judged by a panel of world-renowned experts from the fields of fashion, design and media. This fashion show is scheduled to take place in July 2011 in Berlin on opening night of Fashion Week.
The winner of each national-level contest participates in the Grand Finale in Berlin. Victory in Berlin can open doors for the up-and-coming designer. Having Triumph interpret the winning showpiece into a limited-edition commercial garment, sold in Triumph stores and selected department stores worldwide, is sure make their design book stand out. In fact, the designer’s name and concept design will be featured on the hang-tags of this limited edition garment. Who can ask for better advertising than that? Their friends and family will be sure to get a kick out of it.
Check back in July for news on this spectacular fashion event.
