Finding plus-size lingerie that fits at all is difficult, and finding plus-sized lingerie that fits well is almost impossible. Here are some tips to find out if the bra you’re wearing right now is worth wearing at all.

• Comfort
  How does your body feel at the end of the day? Are you dying to take your bra off every evening? A good bra is comfortable. In fact, because of the support it offers, a good bra will often be more comfortable than no bra. If you feel like your bra is poking, pulling or pinching, you should keep looking. It could be any number of factors—the size, fabric, cut, shape, etc—but if something isn’t right, you can do better.

• Size
  It’s very common for women to consistently by the wrong size bra. How? Most women buy a bigger back size and smaller cup size than what they really wear. If you can see the outline of your bra or if your bust line looks misshapen or “squashed” under a t-shirt, your bra is probably the wrong size. Try buying the next size larger cup and a size or two smaller back size measurement. This will probably give you a better fit.

• Support
  One frustrating issue that many plus-sized woman face is finding adequate and comfortable support. Looking for bras with underwires and strategic layers of mesh, stretch and cotton fabrics will give you a good start. Finding the right size for your bra is also a good way to ensure that it will be able to adequately support you throughout the day.

• Confidence
  While fun colors, designs and details aren’t necessary on a practical level, who doesn’t want to feel good about their body? Buying a few different types of bras is a great way to build your confidence and help any outfit look even better. Look for colors that will layer well with your favorite outfits and a variety of fun details such as lace trim, bows, ribbon and fabrics. Find a bra you actually like… you’ll be much more excited to wear it.
