Intimate apparel designers Daisy Hartmann and Elizabeth NeSmith took their design skills and environmental beliefs to heart and launched an eco-conscious lingerie company. The label, “daisy & elizabeth“, released its first line this season. The duo are proud to declare their collection is domestically made in Brooklyn, New York and that each piece was designed to withstand time and wear and easily transition from day wear to night wear. Moreover, their collection is constructed only with materials that are natural or from renewable resources. For example, their bras, camisoles and panties are made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester and nylon.
Daisy Hartmann and Elizabeth NeSmith met in 2007 while studying intimate apparel design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Daisy attributes inspiration for her designs to her interest in yoga and holistic remedies, while Elizabeth draws inspiration from dance and costume design. Together, the design team strives to bring to market a new, alternative option to the intimate apparel market.
